NASHVILLE - MUSIC CITY

Hi Y'all,

Well thats how the locals say it. Not much time to write - but I am having a wonderful time. All the writers that I have met with are so talented, I can hardly wait to get back and record the songs we have written - so that y'all can hear them. OK that was my last y'all - oops there's another one. hee hee

The weather has been very hot but not unbearable although everyone over here seems to be melting. For me it's a welcome change from the Toowoomba chill.

Caught up with Mick Lindsey while here - which is pretty funny considering we live in the same town and only see each other at gigs.

Went to the Bluebird and met some great writers - so impressed with Todd Cerney - if you don't know who he is google him, you'll be impressed as well. We chatted after the show - such a nice guy.

Well as I said time is short - i'll post some pics when I get back to Oz.

Catch up soon

I'm Still Here

I can't believe we are nearly at the end of the year.

It certainly has been a busy one. This year I have been working on my country music radio program called the Country Catch Up. It's a lot of fun, playing great contemporary country music, throwing in a few good ol' flash backs and catching up with great country music artists.

Melinda Schnieder, Harmony James, Kylie Hogan and Lianna Rose are just a few to join me on the airwaves of late to have a chat and each week another wonderful talent drops in or gives me a call to let us know what's going on in their life.

My family are all well and are loving the Toowoomba lifestyle. The weather is great apart from all the dust and the people are awesome as well.

I'm heading back down to NSW for a gig next weekend so maybe i'll see you there. It's at the Commercial Hotel in Warialda on Halloween.

Catch you next time,

Victoria

Time to Move - AGAIN!!!

I know it feels like only a couple of weeks ago I was talking about the Big move to Toowoomba and yes you're right it was only a few weeks ago, but the house we are renting got sold so we are moving again this time with a longer lease so hopefully my house in Moree will sell soon and then I can buy a new house and be settled.

Oh well - things to look forward to.

Life in Toowoomba is lots of fun - i love the change of scene. I am making new friends and learning new skills. I feel inspired and am writing some new songs as well. I'm still a doing little radio work and voice overs so I can't complain.

I haven't taken many photos since I have been in Toowoomba because I seem to have misplaced my memory cards but i did develop the photos on them before they went missing so I thought i might do abit of a photo blog of Tamworth and the drive to Queensland.

I LOVE WEDDINGS

Hi there everyone,

Well i'm back home again after a bit of a whirlwind tour of South East Qld. I had to go up for my cousins wedding. It was lovely the bridal party was decked out in black and white.I'm really liking the new style of wedding cakes I must say i'm still a bit of traditionalist and love a bit of fruit cake but i wont say no to a great chocolate cake.

I also spent a bit of time with my sisters and my mum and dad. Tash and I did a bit of shopping ( like that wasn't going to happen....) and I finally got my Sushi fix as well. Mmmm I love Sushi.

Have a look at the pickies of my beautiful cousins Katrina (the Bride), Lenora, Natalie,Anna, Kristin, and the Groom - Joshua and his boys.

Congrats guys - Happy Honeymooning.

RECLAIM THE NIGHT - MOREE 2008

This is an event to help empower women to stand up against violence towards women and children.

We started at the town hall in Moree and marched through the streets to Taylor Oval where we were welcomed to country and listened to guest speakers. I had also been asked to provide the entertainment, So that's what I did and even had one of my vocal students perform a couple of songs as well.

Pam Greer, Kevin Humphries MLA and Superintendent Starling were just a few of the speakers.

So often women put up with terrible circumstances because they are afraid of what will happen if they left an abusive situation.
As a woman I believe we should love and honor each other by encouraging each Woman, Sister, Daughter, Mother and Friend to believe and love herself and to show love and respect to the men in their lives as well - that way we are all edified.

Lets stop the cycle of violence.

Who knows maybe from this Rally someone might have the courage to stand up and say No to violence.

Catherine Britt and Adam Harvey Concert

Wow - This has been such a busy week but it feels all worth it when I get to hang out with great people like Catherine Britt and Adam Harvey, my good friend Barbara Rowe and some of Now Fm's listeners.

That is exactly what happened at the Crossing Theatre on the weekend. Paul Fisher and his friend Kathleen were the winners of a Now FM double pass to the Catherine Britt and Adam Harvey concert and as a special treat I was able to organise a visit backstage with the artists and the band.

Take a look at the photos.

I have to say I love my job. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to remind me it is a job. LOL.

Anyway we had a great night - The music was awesome - Catherine sang amazingly as usual and Adam had us all rolling with laughter.

I wonder what this week will hold.

Catch up with you again soon,
